Beckham Estate

Beckham Estate is a boutique winery located on the Chehalem Mountain in Oregon's picturesque Willamette Valley. The estate is renowned for its commitment to producing high-quality, artisanal wines. The estate is family-owned and operated by Andrew and Annedria Beckham, 1st generation winegrowers who started the project in 2004.

The vineyard spans over about 7 hectares (the property is almost double but a lot of space is saved for bio-diversity, offering a natural habitat for native plants and animals) and is planted with Pinot Noir, Gamay, Trousseau, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewurztraminer and other experiments, especially a small plot of Italian varieties. Beckham Estate practices regenerative and organic farming methods, ensuring the health of the vines and the surrounding ecosystem. Their winemaking philosophy is centered on minimal intervention, allowing the natural characteristics of the grapes and terroir to shine through in the finished wines.

One of the unique aspects of Beckham Estate Vineyard is its Amphora Project. Andrew Beckham, who is also a skilled ceramicist, handcrafts clay amphoras for fermenting and aging wine, both for their own needs at the estate as well as a business, selling them to other wineries. This makes it one of the only wineries in the world where the production of terra-cotta vessels for fermenting and aging is on-site and is integrated with the farming and production of wines. We don't know any other specifically, but we can imagine this happening in some wineries in Georgia.
